Relaxation Massage- Gentle yet firm strokes to ground the body and calm the mind. Great for anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, insomnia, & generally tight, sore muscles.
Trauma sensitive bodywork- This modality embraces the personally tailored approach with subtle shifts to accommodate potentially triggering details. Comfort and safety is always paramount to any massage or bodywork session. Here it is even more essential for a mutually successful experience.
Considerations include, lighting, privacy draping, clothing, music, choice of essential oils, temperature of room & table, pressure, areas to be avoided- included position and placement of the table and headrest
We may perform the session in a reclined (face up) position, if using a face cradle (face-down) creates anxiety. Additionally the service may done entirely clothed. The therapist can work seated in a chair, as to remain neutral- at the same physical level as the client and not above (standing over). Great care is taken to empower the individual client in choosing their preferences and expressing their needs openly, in a safe and healing environment.
Deep Tissue- Deeper pressure than Swedish or Relaxation massage, forearms, soft fist, knuckles, elbows and body mechanics are used to apply greater pressure. The strokes are slow and I pause over tight areas and give time for inflammation to loosen and release. With extremely hyper-tonic tissues I recommend first using the Himalayan hot stones to "melt" the muscles and allow better access.
